Hi, hello and welcome!
I guess I should start with a little introduction about who I am and why I am writing this blog.
Being a young lass on the cusp of turning 30 I have had a life full of strife, excitement, celebration and tragedy. Many say that I have experienced more in this world than most which I see as both an advantage and a curse but either way I try to see the positive when I can.
Originally I intended this blog to be used for only my travelling journal but I have since decided to use it to record not only my physical journeys to other places but also my mental, emotional and spiritual journeys.
Let’s start with the physical. I am an avid traveller, I can’t stay in any one place for too long without getting itchy feet and as soon as I had the money to do so, I have been out there visiting different countries in this world. From Crete to Prague, Berlin to Paris, I have loved every moment of it. I used to have a travel journal as a child but fell out of the habit as I got older and went through several years of no travel at all. Now that I am back on the case, I want to use this space to record my travels, my memories, friends made, experiences had and all that.
My mental, emotional and spiritual journey will be a little more complex. Having suffered from Depression, Anxiety and PTSD for over a decade, I have decided to start recording any therapies, medications and alternative remedies that I have or will be trying in a way to not only help myself but also help others suffering with the same things. This particular thread on my blog will be a tough read for most but I hope that by sharing my struggles I can help to lift some of the stigma that surrounds people that live with mental disorders. These posts will not be a cry for help, nor will they be a call out for sympathy. I have reached the stage now where I can be completely apathetic and objective to the causes of my own disorders, I merely wish to give both a support network to fellow sufferers and also an insight into our minds for family and friends and curious individuals who may not understand the struggles we go through.
I look forward to seeing you all on my blog! 🙂
